We pride ourselves in having loyal longstanding teachers and we have our own pool of relieving teachers so all children and whanau are familiar with our teaching staff.

Kia ora, I am Susan and together with my husband Mark we have owned Acorn Meadows since 2010.  Prior to this I was an at home mum to Joshua and Sarah and it was because of this that I decided to become a teacher.  I was a home-educator while studying and prior to owning the centre.  My passion is young children and there is never a day when I do not want to come to work – children are magical and they always manage to brighten up the dull days and put a smile on my face.

The children know me as “Susie Goose” a nick name I got by some of our children in 2011 and it has stuck ever since.

My name is Lizzie, I am a proud Kiwi and grew up by Howick beach.  I love spending time with my family and friends, reading, and baking, along with many other interests.  I first started teaching in ECE in 2001 whilst studying for my Diploma.  I since upgraded to a Bachelor of Teaching ECE in 2011.  I enjoy working with all age groups and I believe that the most meaningful learning opportunities occur, when children are given the freedom to explore and discover, through their natural curiosity during play experiences.  My goal is to create a positive environment where children are given time and space to explore their individual interests, to share their ideas with others and respect the opinions of their peers.  I have been working at Acorn Meadows since the beginning of 2017.  I mostly work with our under 2’s. What I really love about Acorn Meadows is that all the children get to know and develop strong bonds with all their teachers.

My journey with Acorn Meadows began in 2012.   I have an impressive academic history which includes a Bachelor of Arts, (majoring in Psychology), A Diploma in Design, a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (ECE), and more recently a Post Graduate Diploma in Specialist Teaching (specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorder).

I firmly believe that all children deserve an equal and inclusive education. I have specialist knowledge in special education and learning support gained both from experience and study. I am available to offer advice if you have any learning support needs for your child.

Ni hao, My name is Cici and I am a friendly and energetic educator with more than 10 years of teaching experience in ECE.  I am motivated to help children develop socially, academically and creatively to foster their well-being and learning.   I started with Acorn Meadows in 2010 but left for 5 years to have my own children and to support my husband's business in Queenstown. I have two young children, Mikayla and Ted. I am passionate about art and crafts, as well as the outdoors and gardening. I am looking forward to spending more years with the Acorn Meadows whanau.

Ni Hao. My name is Helen and I’m the cook at Acorn Meadows. I’m so happy to have been given the opportunity to work with this friendly team. My job is to provide the children with healthy and nutritional food with a delicious taste. The  highlight every day at Acorn Meadows has to be the moment when the children finish their meals and tell me “Thank you for cooking us yummy food!” I really enjoy my time at Acorn Meadows and love cooking up new recipes.
